Cobias are carnivorous fish that can grow as large as six feet and weigh as much as 68kilograms. They have broad heads and a shark-like body shape. Cobais are voracious predators that engulf their prey whole. They feed on numerous types of fish from mullets, eels, jacks and snappers to pinfish, croakers, grunts, and herring. Their preferred food however are crabs, and are quite often called ‘crab eaters’. They will follow rays, turtles, and sharks, sneaking in to scavenge whatever are left behind.
